Description
Our client, a leading global financial services company, has approximately 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 140 countries. They provide consumers, corporations, governments and institutions with financial products and services, including consumer banking and credit, corporate and investment banking, securities brokerage, transaction services, and wealth management.
Distribution Team acts as middleware between master central applications to provide First in Class reference data delivery across Investment Bank business firms requiring market data information. Distribution platform is a critical segment of data processing and distribution from source to client. Our focus is to ensure that data delivery is fast, secure, and seamless providing high flexibility between disparate systems and extensive customization of data filters to downstream systems.
The new hire will join Distribution team and will focus on supporting applications, Business Clients and Cross-functional teams while improving application functionality for greater streamline processing. The successful candidate will develop a comprehensive understanding of Distribution application of systems throughput, dependencies and quick identification of errors. The candidate will ensure that support issues are handled in a timely manner and think out of the box to design and improve current distribution platform. He or she will also participate in Release efforts and project execution.
Pre-requisites include:
Must be familiar with core Java
Must be familiar with Unix
Technical Skills Required
Experience in web service development
Experience in Shell script
Non-Technical Skills Required
Should have at least 3 years working experience prior to this job
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills
Able to be hands-on and take ownership of projects/deliverables
Able to work with clients and business users
Be a highly motivated, self-starting individual willing to work in a dynamic work environment.
Must demonstrate analytical thinking and problem solving skills
Business Skills (Optional)
Have a sound macro view of the working of Global financial markets
Have a fundamental understanding of the workings of financial institutions, specifically investment banks.
