Performs a wide variety of tasks under given direction by the Directors of Facilities.
Supervises, directs, assigns, and evaluates the daily work of the assigned staff, trains employees in work procedures.
Interviews and recommends selection of job applicants.
Communicate matters involving personnel and facility in a current and timely manner with the Directors of Facilities.
Assure compliance with establishing safety regulations and precautions by the facilities and ground staff.
Provide effective orientation and training to minimize accidents.
Develop and monitor ongoing preventative maintenance programs for all grounds equipment and company vehicles on campus.
Prepare department budgets for area of responsibility.
Manage and schedule proper staffing and coverage for winter and summer seasons.
(day to day operation and storm predictions) Operates all equipment and vehicles as needed to maintain the facilities grounds year round.
Maintains all minor repairs on equipment and vehicles.
Make recommendations of modifications/procedures.
Maintain all roads and solid surfaces for proper and safe travel for vehicles and pedestrians.
Complete outside capital projects on campus.
Example; (fencing, digging, new installation, removal of debris, building changes outside, operating of large equipment) Reports to work under any emergency conditions.
Responsible for scheduling staff, managing grounds, parking for all campus events.
Insure safety for residents and clearances for all safety vehicles.
Maintain ground free of debris and litter throughout the seasons.
Adheres to dress code, policies, and safety procedures at all times.
Assures the safety and wellbeing of the residents on the campus.
Adheres to time and attendance policy.
Position Requirements:
Experience:
Snow removal experience preferred.
Knowledge in use of lawn equipment and basic knowledge of gardening.
2-3 years' experience preferred.
Education Requirements:
High School Graduate or GED.
Specific Requirements:
Must obtain valid NYS driver's license.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
